About my presentation on Hiroshima city at the National University of Costa Rica, UNA
My name is Rony from Costa Rica. I'm a student at Hiroshima University and member of HSAA. For more than three years I didn't have the opportunity to visit my country, however, I finally went during last September! (2017) 😊
During those days －and responding to an invitation of the Japanese Embassy－ I made a presentation about Hiroshima city at the National University of Costa Rica (UNA), Central America.

Invitation to the conference
The title of the presentation was "Today's Hiroshima: a City in Search of Peace." Basically, the focus of the presentation was the rebuilding process of the city, its current situation and symbolic meaning for the world peace. However, I also explained general information about the city, its history and touristic value. The general outline of the presentation was:
- Hiroshima city before the atomic bomb.
- The atomic bomb and its consequences.
- The rebuilding of the city and the promotion of peace.
- Today's Hiroshima city.
Around fifty visitors attended the presentation. As my country is one of the few countries of the world without an army, for Costa Ricans is really difficult to imagine the horror of war. Most of attendees really liked the part about the efforts of reconstruction and how Japanese people could work together and rebuild the city, transforming it into a huge monument of peace.
There were some minutes for questions and comments. I presented Hiroshima as a modern city with kind people, suitable for visiting or studying there. Some of the questions that I received on that time will be considered in my future comments, so one more time... please wait for future posts! 😆

Mi presentación sobre Hiroshima en la Universidad Nacional (UNA), Costa Rica

nombre es Rony y soy de Costa Rica. Estudio en la Universidad de
Hiroshima y actualmente soy miembro del HSAA. Por más de tres años no
había tenido la oportunidad de visitar mi país, ¡pero finalmente logré
hacerlo en setiembre pasado! (2017) 😊
Con doña Ligia Villalobos y el señor Hideo Kawamoto, de la Embajada de Japón
Durante esos días, －y aceptando una invitación de la Embajada de Japón en Costa Rica－hice una presentación sobre la ciudad de Hiroshima en la Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica (UNA), América Central.
El título de la presentación fue "Hiroshima Actual: Una Ciudad en Busca de la Paz". Básicamente me enfoqué en el proceso de reconstrucción de la ciudad, su situación actual y significado simbólico para la paz mundial. Sin embargo, también traté temas generales sobre la ciudad, su historia y su valor turístico. Las distintas secciones de la presentación fueron:
- Hiroshima antes de la bomba.
- La bomba atómica y sus efectos.
- La reconstrucción de la ciudad y la promoción de la paz.
- Hiroshima actual.
Alrededor de unas 50 personas asistieron a la presentación. Como Costa Rica es uno de los pocos países sin un ejército, para los costarricenses es muy difícil imaginar los horrores de la guerra. La mayor parte de los asistentes se interesaron mucho en la parte sobre los esfuerzos para la reconstrucción y el cómo los japoneses pudieron trabajar juntos y transformaron Hiroshima en un enorme monumento a la paz.
Hubo algunos minutos para preguntas y comentarios, en donde presenté la ciudad de Hiroshima como un lugar moderno y con personas amables; atractiva tanto para el turismo como para estudiar. Algunas de las preguntas que recibí serán consideradas en mis futuros comentarios, así que nuevamente... ¡esperen mis futuras publicaciones! 😆
